We’re delighted to announce that, in line with the easing in Lockdown measures, we will be re-opening on Monday 15th June.
For the safety of our staff and our customers, we will be adhering to the Government’s recommended social distancing and all safety measures. We know that this will feel very strange to us all, but it’s something that we will all have to get used to for the immediate future.
Here’s a short run down of some of the changes we are implementing.
To start with, our opening hours will temporarily change. We will be open Monday to Saturday, but from 10:00 am - 3:00pm.
Although our shop is relatively long, it isn’t very wide. So we will only be allowing a maximum of 2 customers at any one time. This will allow us to achieve the minimum social distancing space between staff and customers required to minimise any transference of Covid 19 from one person to another, especially where anyone may be symptom free. If staff indicate we are already at our 2 customer capacity, please wait outside until we can let you in.
We will provide hand sanitiser by the entrance, and ask you to use it before entering.
Unfortunately we have to ask customers, please do not handle yarn, fabric, books or other items unless purchasing. Please ask staff to assist you. We will have display only books available where possible, for you to look through.
Norfolk Yarn will not be taking returns until further notice. We will happily provide ideas to use up the extra ball or two of wool you may find is left over after a project has been completed.
Contactless and card payment is encouraged at this time. You will notice that we have installed the now familiar perspex screen at the till.
We will have signs on the floor, but at all times we will ask you to adhere to a minimum 2m distance from anyone else and follow all other appropriate social distancing measures.
And finally, please do not enter our shop if you have even the slightest symptom of Coronavirus/Covid 19.
We have also set up a free click and collect delivery option on the website. This means you can order online and collect from the shop during our opening hours (10am-3pm, Mon - Sat). Pick up times will be from 12pm to allow us time in the morning to get your order ready. When you go to the checkout on the website, it will ask you for a delivery address, please enter this as normal (we can’t remove this from the checkout unfortunately) and then select ‘Click and collect’ in the shipping options below. Below is an example to show you how this new delivery option will appear to you.
Many people have asked if we will be running our workshops once the shop re-opens. As groups of people of any number inside are not allowed, we cannot say when these will start again. As soon as we are safely allowed to continue them, we definitely will. So, there will be no in-store workshops until further notice.
It feels truly odd to be writing a blog post that’s actually a list of rules. We are excited that we will be open again, but along with lots of you, a little nervous too. We’ve even given the shop front a fresh coat of paint for this brand new adventure.
Our website will still be taking orders, and for those who are vulnerable, shielding or who are not living locally, we will still be posting and delivering. Rebecca’s daughter Caitlin is continuing to keep the website updated and adding new products to it. Please let us know if there is something you wanted that you know we stock, but you cannot find and we will rectify it if possible.
Thank you and stay safe.
Rebecca, Boo and Caitlin
